Committee Reports:
Vendor Expo-Cynda Solberg
There are 14 vendors registered as of today. Jim Fering has been putting them on the website under the Vendor Expo tab and he has been including a brief description of the type of business, contact information, and a link to their website if it’s available. We have many new vendors coming to the Expo this year. WAPP members are encouraged to continue talking to vendors about attending the expo and are encouraged to direct them to our website for all the registration materials. We are still looking for a vendor that might be willing to share a both with another small vendor for a fee of $150. If anyone knows a vendor that might be interested, please have them contact Dean Helwig.
There are only 13 motel rooms in our block still available for Wednesday, April 26th and 26 rooms left for Thursday April 27th. Please book your motel rooms now so that if we need to try to block more we can. There is a possibility there will be no other rooms available. Our chances of getting rooms available are greater if we increase the block soon.
WAPP members are reminded to send in their registrations soon. Right now we have more vendors registered than WAPP members. Please mail or fax in your registration and mail your check by the March 26th deadline.
The Thursday night entertainment will be a "Survivor" Theme. Please dress appropriately and plan to have a lot of fun!
A reminder that the deadline for everything related to the Vendor Expo is March 26th. This includes golf, motel rooms, registrations, and vendor registrations.
Public Relations-Mary Lynn Seidel
Mary Lynn volunteered to be the chairperson for this committee. Chris thanked Mary Lynn for volunteering.
Mary Lynn reminded everyone of the VIP program that started in December. Members get points for attending meetings, contributing articles to the newsletter, etc. The contest runs until the December meeting of 2001. There will be two winners of this contest for the members that have accumulated the most points. The prize will be lodging and the meeting fee paid for by WAPP for a quarterly meeting (excluding the Vendor Expo).
Jackie Krause reminded everyone to turn in their votes for the best host contest that we will be doing again this year.
Education-Frank Draxler
There are two seminars that have been scheduled. General Public Procurement will be offered in Wisconsin Dells 10/10-10/12/01. Developing and Managing Performance Based Contracts will be offered in Wisconsin Dells 10/11-10/12/01. Look to the WAPP website for information on registration for these classes.
Newsletter-Sharon Weeks
The deadline for the newsletter is March 23rd. Since the newsletter will get out too late for the Vendor Expo registrations, members will have to register through the website.
Membership-Chris Wilmot for Monica Gannon
Membership forms are due by March 16th , 2001. Getting your membership to Monica by this date will insure that you are in the 2001 WAPP directory.
Finance-Kim Verhelst
The finance committee has approved the budget for 2001 that was printed in the newsletter. It will be posted on the WAPP website.
Webmater-Jim Fering
If anyone has any comments or suggestions on the website please send Jim and email. A reminder was given that you can go to vendor’s websites that are coming to the expo from the WAPP website. It was pointed out that the WAPP link from Vendornet to our page is no longer working. Chris Wilmot will check into this.
A motion to adjourn was m/s/p. The meeting was adjourned at 12:05.
Respectfully submitted,
Cynda Solberg
WAPP Secretary
