    • As budgeting becomes a greater challenge, it is more important than ever for government to stretch each dollar.  Mr. Bretl will share his experiences in developing a central purchasing system in Walworth County and the important role of purchasing in achieving budget goals.  He has worked in both city and county government in southeast Wisconsin for the past two decades.

  • Cheryl and Jim will team up to discuss the challenges and successes of conducting a unique RFP for contracting billing services that will save municipalities time, generate more money and help build the capacity of local emerging businesses as well.

  • The City of Milwaukee has become one of the largest users of Bio-Diesel in the State of Wisconsin.  Mr. Gupta will present recent initiatives to "Green the Fleet" and to "Improve the Sustainability" of all facilities

  • The West Allis - West Milwaukee School District has been drawing national recognition for its cost-reducing efforts by saving more than $3 million on energy in the past three years.  Mr. Mangan will discuss how his school district was able to create a program to train 200 district employees to become more energy-conscious.
