Meeting called to order at 8:30 A.M. by Vice-President, Steve Martinelli, in absence of President, Cynda Solberg.

Minutes: 

A motion was m/s/p approving the minutes for the March, 2003, meeting.

Treasures Report – Dean Helwig

Prior to receipts and expenses for this quarterly meeting we have balances of $5945.09 in our checking account and $6191.25 in our CD account, totaling $12,136.35.

Treasurer's report accepted.

Vendor Expo – Chairperson Wallis Roberts

• Wallis presented an update on the Vendor Expo, asked about participation in the golf outing and the excesize/dieting program that will be offered.
• Dean noted that there were 11 vendors registered.
• The Group was reminded of the free lodging and meeting registration contest.

Education – Frank Draxler

• There will be an NIGP Advanced Class offered in Wisconsin Dells on October 9^th, 10^th and 11^th.
• A Beginning class will be offered late October in Milwaukee if there will be adequate participation.
• There will be a ½ day CPPB test review at the September meeting for those who are interested in taking the CPPB test.
• Frank spoke of the benefits of earning your CPPB/CPPO.

Wallis heard from Fred Woodard who is recovering from a recent heart attack. He is doing well and is expected at the Vendor Expo.

The deadline for submissions for the Newsletter is August 8^th.

Susan Connelly expressed that we consider incorporating Common Problems into our meetings again and planning ahead (preparing an agenda and having a moderator) for the issues of concern.

Frank Draxler would like to incorporate sharing of contracts, finding contracts, etc. into a meeting in the near future.

Kim Verhelst asked about adding the Minority Business link to our website. Jim Fering said it would be no problem.

Dean Helwig shared information on the upcoming national forum and asked for input regarding support from our chapter. Previously we supported it with a $500 contribution to the sponsoring chapter. Kim made a motion to contribute $500 to the national forum. Motion was m/s/p.

Dean Helwig brought to our attention that NIGP officers of local chapters are required to become national NIGP members. There were strong feelings on both sides of the issue. Considerations such as loyalty to the organization as well as the cost to our local chapter were discussed. Whether all officers or only the president should be required to be members of NIGP was at issue. It was generally felt that whoever went to the national conference representing the WAPP Chapter, should be a member of NIGP. Frank made a motion to place this item on the agenda for the September meeting in Wisconsin Dells. Motion was s/p.

Next meeting is the Vendor Expo at Ho Chunk Casino and Conference Center in Wisconsin Dells September 19^th and 20^th.
