Minutes
June 11, 2004

The meeting was called to order at 11:15 A.M. by President, Steve Martinelli, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and introductions.
Minutes - A motion was m/s/p approving the March, 2004 quarterly minutes.
Treasurer's Report – Scott Noffke
Checking - $15,561.46
CD - $6,253.31
Total - $21,814.77
Old Business
- Purchasing a portable sound system was again discussed. This was referred back to the members who had worked on this earlier to make a recommendation at the WAPP Expo meeting.Robert Barwick
New Business
Steve Martinelli asked if he should forward email messages/offers that he receives as WAPP President to WAPP members. The members recommended he use his judgment.
Chuck Hintze recommends that more members pursue their CPPO certification.
Don LaFontaine – The League of Wisconsin Municipalities recommended another price consortium that is out of state. Can WAPP contact the League to inform them about WAPP and its activities? Steve Martinelli said that WAPP does communicate with the League and other city/county organizations (7 groups) and has invited them to the Expo.
Mary Lynn Seidl asked for a Homeland Security item on the WAPP website to allow counties to list their grant purchases to encourage cooperative purchasing. Jim Fering stated he will do this.
Committee Reports
Vendor Expo - Steve Martinelli
Steve stated that the Expo will be held Sept. 30th and Oct. 1st at the Ho-Chunk Conference Center. There will be a circus theme since it has been 10 years since WAPP hosted the NIGP national conference, which also had a circus theme. Inform someone on the Expo committee of any vendors whom you know would like to participate.
Membership/Public Relations - Monica Gannon
Monica stated that we currently have 189 members.
15% (29) are retired.
20% (38) have accreditation.
49% (93) belong to NIGP.
10% (19) are "first-time" new members.
Only 10% (18) pay for their own dues.Directories will be available at the September Vendor Expo meeting.
Note: Member certificates requested at the June meeting were completed & mailed on 6/30/04.
Education – Frank Draxler
Frank said that he would be glad to provide information and assistance to anyone interested in obtaining the CPPB or CPPO certification. Frank said he will tentatively set up CPPB/CPPO training for this fall. So, contact him if you are interested in that training. (frank.draxler@co.eau-claire.wi.us)
