Third Quarter Business Meeting Minutes

September 14-15, 2000 

Eau Claire, WI

President, Mary Lynn Seidl, called the meeting to order at 11:05 a.m. followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

It was moved and seconded to approve the minutes from the May, 2000 meeting.   Motion carried.

Committee Reports:

Finance - Kim Verhelst solicited  proposed budgets for 2001, from committee chairpersons and stated that the proposed budgets would be published in the October newsletter. In addition, a year-to-date budget narrative would be included in unfinished business.

Education - Frank Draxler stated that twenty-three (23) people had signed up for the October seminar on Contract Administration for which there is a limit of twenty-five. In 2001, NIGP will offer at minimum two (2) courses on this subject, one core and one advanced. Also, NIGP will be offering an Intermediate Purchasing course, scheduled for October 18, in Minnesota.

Public Relations - Cynda Solberg stated that the chapter has added thirty-seven (37) new members Y-T-D. A survey form will be available on the WAPP website to obtain feedback for scheduling the Expo during 2002, and will include information on how to generate more revenue from the vendors. The 200l, two-day Expo has been scheduled for April 26-27 in Green Lake. Due to higher costs a change in the registration fees will be required. Also, the Illinois chapter of NIGP has proposed a joint venture with WAPP for this event.

Cooperative Purchasing - no report

Membership - Kris Kennedy stated that the submission deadline for the membership dues needed to be clarified.

President’s Council - no report

Recycling Committee - no report

Website - Additional enhancements to the Website are in progress. Members will eventually be able to fill out forms online with the option to send them back online.

Treasurer - Sharon Weeks made the treasurer's report and stated that it would be published in the next newsletter.  A motion was made, seconded and passed to accept the report as read.

Newsletter Editor - Deadline for the next issue of the newsletter is October 20, 2000.

Unfinished Business - None.
